Captive (plennyi)

It's a russian-bulgarian movie filmmed in 2008 about 2 russian soldiers during Chechen war taking a captive (a checehn boy Jamal) to show them the way out of the mountains.

They showed the movie today on TV, unfortunately I watched only the final part, but I liked it a lot.

The movie gives you a mixed feeling, it explores the human nature at war without giving any evaluation to the characters' actions but still manages to show that each action has some internal struggle in their hearts as a background.

After broadcating the movie they showed some talkshow with actors, producer, story writer, critics, etc. I really wish I didn't see it, 'cause they managed to ruin all the mood after watching the film. They were discussing some stupid things and telling some trivial thoughts, distracting your attention from speculating on the movie itself. Though I liked the things told by the author of the original. He dwelled on the way he wrote the story and what he planned initially and why it ended like it did.

We are having lots of war movies filmed lately, and most of them are just for propaganda and giving you the feeling that you're leaving in a great and strong country. But they don't make you think. And this movie does. That's why I liked it.
